Basement Bar

The Social
Located adjacent to Dundee Rep in the heart of what has become Dundee's 'Cultural Quarter', The Social is arguably the city's premier style bar.

Laings
Ask any Dundonian what one of their favourite pubs is and Laings will be on the list. A great atmosphere and a fun place to go.

A live music venue with an excellent reputation in and around Dundee. Outdoor patio perfect on a summer's day.

Eating Out

Jute Cafe Bar, DCA
Jute is a cafe bar withwith panoramic river views. Its menu ranges widely, with the emphasis on informality, while the ambience goes from relacing morning coffee venue to stylish evening hotspot.

The Italian
Since opening in October 2002 the restaurant has grown in popularity to the point where booking is essential. The ethos is on the freshest and best local produce, carefully prepared and cooked with Italian flair. This can perhaps be best seen in The Italian's meat dishes which take the finest Aberdeen Angus beef and cook them in a Mediterranean style which both compliments and brings out the quality of the product. The brigade of Italian chefs have a commitment to quality, simple food cooked to order and it is for this reason that the restaurant has become renowned as the best in the city.

Lochside Lodge & Roundhouse Restaurant
A converted farm steading by Lintrathen Loch in the heart of the peaceful Angus Glens. The well-balanced menu offers accomplished, imaginative dishes. Graham Riley's menus are a testament to his culinary skills and his ability to source and cook fresh local ingredients including venison, salmon, Angus beef and lamb.

Nightclubs

Fat Sams
Since 1983 Fat Sams has been a mainstay of Dundee's nightlife. Orginally better known for live music, Fat Sams is now a clubbing institution. A recent expansion has recently increased it's already large capacity. The three floors now offer a greater range of clubbing experiences. There is emphasis on the chart floor-fillers as well as R & B but Fat Sams generally caters for everyone's tastes.

London Nightclub & Diner
London Nightclub & Diner is a big multi-purpose which pumps out mainstream sounds, but has enough class and variety about it to not fell too cheesy. In the main room commercial dance is the mainstay, however there is also the more relaxed piano bar, lounge and G-room all of which play a rotating range of R & B, hip-hop, funk and jazz. It is a great night where the vibe is one of harmless and unpretentious fun.

Basement Club
The Basement Club is downstairs from the cafe and Restaurant Twenty Five in a converted townhouse this intimate wee bar is a relaxed session with a few mates. The brown and cream interior is seperated into three comfy areas, and a tiny stage dishes up Dj's and live music. There is a healthy range of class to the place with some cheap cocktails but there is really no pretentions about this entertaining late-night haunt.
